French with a Texas Twang

Beaujolais Wine Festival Highlights French & Texas Vintages;
Sponsors to Wear Traditional French Ball Masks

Welcome back, Beaujolais, Bordeaux and Texas. Bienvenue Burgundy and Rhone Valley. As wine lovers around the globe crack open the first bottles of the 2010 Beaujolais, Dallas will revel in the country’s biggest Beaujolais Wine Festival.

Themed French with a Texas Twang, the 2010 festival will be held at the World Trade center on Friday, Nov. 19. Organized by the French-American Chamber of Commerce of Dallas/Fort Worth, the festival is expected to draw more than 2,000 people.

Guests will not only taste wines from the Beaujolais region, the event’s signature Sommelier Sponsor, Goody Goody Wine & Spirits, will also have Bordeaux, Burgundy, Rhone Valley and Texas vintages to savor. In addition, all festival sponsors and their guests will be easy (and difficult!) to spot because they’ll be wearing traditional French masks.

Celebrities including Miss Texas 2010 will be on hand for autographs and photo opportunities. Other highlights include a fashion show by Texas Next Top Designers, cabaret dancing and singing, a silent auction, and more.

Attendees will also please their palates with selections from some of the top restaurants and gourmet food providers in the Metroplex, such as: Cadot Restaurant, Eddie Deen, Evian, Hotel St. Germain, La Duni Latin Café, la Madeleine, Lavendou Bistro Provençal, Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, Mozzarella Company & Empire Baking Co, Paciugo Gelato, Parigi, Salum Restaurant, Sambuca Uptown, Scardello Artisan Cheese, Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse, Capriccio Ristorante, Decanter Restaurant and Wine Lounge, Delice Chocolatier Selection, and more.

This year guests will have a unique opportunity to savor a selection of French wines from the Beaujolais, Bordeaux, Burgundy, and Rhone Valley regions, as well as premium Texas wines. It’s a great opportunity for novice and discriminating wine lovers alike to experience something exciting and new.

"It promises to be an unforgettable evening” said Eric Corticchiato, FACC Executive Vice President and chairman of the 2010 Dallas Beaujolais Wine Festival. "Everyone is encouraged to wear a mask of their choice just to add to the fun” he added.

Tickets are $55 per person; parties of 4 or more are $50 each. Tickets at the door are $60 each, and all tickets can be purchased by MC/Visa, Amex, DinersClub, Discover, cash or check through the local FACC. Call 972-241-0111 to order tickets or register online at www.faccdallas.com. Checks can be mailed to 2665 Villa Creek Dr., Suite 214, Dallas, TX 75234. Every ticket holder will receive a commemorative wine glass to imitate the smelling, swishing, and spitting process known as “degustation”.
