Picky Eater at Taste America

The James Beard Foundation's 20th Anniversary Benefits the Farmers Market as well as "a number of diverse programs that include educational initiatives, food industry awards, scholarships to culinary schools.".. It is truly a celebration of those who appreciate culinary excellence. And knowing it was at Nana, with some of my favorite chefs cooking made it irresistable.

Of course I wanted to be there. But the most interesting part of the evening was not the food, (which was of course spectacular) but the people at my table. Leslie quickly admitted she was a picky eater. She did not even want to try the first tuna course. I think she only came because her friend Rhonda persauaded her. But I think I should call her lucky Leslie since she won the biggest price..a $2500 office package from Office Expo. (and Leslie does not even have an office) She also was the high bidder on a dinner at the James Beard House. I asked her to do a column called the Picky Eater.

Also met a girl who was representing a new line of beverages that are healthy and non-alcoholic and pair with foods. But more on that after I taste it.
