NEW ORLEANS: Hotel Monteleone and Fair Grounds Host Betting 101 Luncheon

From Carousel Horses to Race Horses: Register to Win a Box at the Fair Grounds on Opening Day

WHO: The Hotel Monteleone and Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots
This event is open to the public.

WHAT: Hotel Monteleone and the Fair Grounds are teaming up to host “Bet You Didn’t Know: Betting 101,” for women and men interested in learning about the basic rules of betting on horse races. Jim Mulvihill from the Fair Grounds will teach attendees the proper way to place a bet while celebrity guests will model stylish derby hats courtesy of Fleur de Paris. Attendees will have the chance to win prizes from a mock bet while enjoy refreshing Mint Juleps and a light luncheon provided by Hotel Monteleone featuring festive desserts. Prizes include a hat giveaway from Fleur de Paris and an autographed, framed poster from the Fair Grounds.

Additionally, the Hotel Monteleone is raffling off a chance to win a box suite on Opening Day at the Fair Grounds on Thursday, November 25. *The Day at the Races package includes a box suite, a race named after the winner, a meet and greet with the Fair Grounds new racing analyst, Katie Mikolay and the chance to present an award to the winning horse, pose for a picture in the Winner’s Circle, see their name in a Fair Grounds program and spend a night at Hotel Monteleone on November 24 or 25.
